Lectures and Programs Offered for Seniors in Assisted Living, Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers
Reiki Consultant for the Senior Population – Experienced at offering Reiki at Senior Housing, Councils on Aging, Assisted Living, Extended Care, Nursing and Rehabilitation Centers.* (*Based on a pilot Reiki Program that was conducted in 2008 at the Essex Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Beverly MA.)
Reiki Sessions are offered in these settings (for residents and staff) for improved comfort, increased calm and a greater sense of inner peace. (*Patients were seen post-stroke, post-orthopeadic surgery, and with Alzheimer’s and dementia.)
Dreamtime Wellness™ Reiki Programs for Seniors are coordinated by a registered nurse with a history of working with patients with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Reiki is offered as supportive care. Special attention is paid towards comfort, safety, hygiene and confidentiality. In some facilities an order for reiki is required from a physician, along with written consent from those residents receiving reiki. Note: A signature for consent from a healthcare agent is required for residents diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, dementia or other cognitive deficits.
